About us

Bevolkingsonderzoek Nederland is responsible for conducting the breast cancer, cervical cancer and colorectal cancer population programme. The Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport is the organisator and the Centre of Health Screening (CvB) of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) is responsible for directing and granting subsidies for the health screenings. Bevolkingsonderzoek Nederland is responsible for implementation in collaboration with its chain partners, such as general practitioners and hospitals, with the aim of detecting cancer at an early stage. The organization originated from a merger of five regional organizations.
